Blast Resistant

It is long overdue for incorporating blast-resistant panels. It’s been happening worldwide. Ever since 9-11, engineers have taken several technological strides with ways to limit energy loads and significantly lowering fatality rates during explosions.

There has been a substantial increase in terrorist blasts cases over the years that resulted in leveling of buildings, loss of lives and significant damage to properties.

Why invest in Blast Resistance?

Explosion attacks from terrorism are far from being the only cases of explosions. Industrial explosions are happening regularly, and they happen mainly because of the use of flammable products around dangerous chemicals.
The public buildings that we visit every day could also be affected by blasts that have nothing to do with bombs; such as gas leaks or chemical explosions. Today lots of things could cause high-velocity blasts that could end up leveling buildings, for this reason, there is definitely a need for advancements in this phase of construction.

Blast-resistant wall panels play a vital role in eliminating damages that will cost billions of dollars and save millions of lives.

Aluminum Composite Panels (ACP)

Using blast-resistant wall panels have more than one usage. Not only are they blast-resistant, but they are also fire resistant as well. Blast panels are regularly used for both external and internal fire-and-blast walls, to build light-weight modular structures that improve onsite safety. These prefabricated panels are specifically fitted for those projects with explosion resistance requirements for either large or small modules; these may include:

  • Petroleum plants.
  • Chemical plants.
  • Public facilities.
  • Gas plant.

Back in the day, or let’s say the conventional concept of blast resistance was based on concrete and steel combination. Now, to cut down on the considerable bulk, time and cost associated with the old method, sandwich plate panels or otherwise known as aluminum composite panels are fast becoming the popular choice.
